A painting to treasure for anyone who knows it well, this show-stopping piece depicts Stroud Station before it was repainted. 

French born, London based painter Marie Lenclos came to This House in October 2022 and has since described the cottage as a safe haven for her. 

Marie’s painting studio is in the depths of South East London and her highly sought after paintings most famously portray scenes from a lesser noticed London. Light hits redbrick walls under train tracks, and blue skies contrast blocky 1980s buildings. While on her  residency Marie turned her unique gaze and deft hand to some often misunderstood landmarks in Stroud.
