This House Summer Show
Our very first Summer Show celebrates some of the artists-in-residence who have come through the doors of The Cottage in Amberley since the opening in 2021.
‘Stroud Station’ by Marie Lenclos
Acting as a place of creative refuge, over the last four years some hugely accomplished individuals have been welcomed, each bringing a unique view to the space and surrounding area. During their stay they are invited to reflect on their practice, what drives them and to plant new seeds for future works.
The offering is one of simplicity. With freedom to create without the constraints of a deadline, the intentions for making work are brought to the forefront. Revisiting these artists work after time has passed we were touched to find we could trace threads back to The Cottage and surrounding landscape in their work.
This show presents some of our favourite pieces made as a result of these residencies.
Featuring work by by Marie Lenclos, James D Wilson, David Phillips, Chelsea Vivash, Jo Rance, Laurie Maun, Chanel Irvine, and Lorenzo Zandri.
