In our very first show we are celebrating artists in residence at the cottage in Amberley since we opened the doors in 2021.
Acting as a place of creative refuge we have welcomed some hugely accomplished individuals over the last 4 years who have each brought a unique view to the surrounding area. During their stay artists are invited to reflect on their practice; what it is that drives them and to plant new seeds for future works.
The residency offering is one of simplicity. With freedom to create without the constraints of a deadline the core intentions for making work are brought to the forefront.
We present some of our favourite pieces made as a direct result of these residencies: a showstopper painting of the Stroud Station platform by artist Marie Lenclos, subtle explorations of the myths and valleys by the illusive painter Tenfields, James Wilson’s striking deconstructed landscapes; photographer Chanel Irvings photographic musings on the Great British summertime and many more beautiful works will be on display.
